New York City Beat

Uptown, downtown, sound of the new york city beat! No I am not quoting RuPaul’s “New York City Beat” song. No I am not listening to it as I write this post.

Style of the Day

New York’s weather is beautiful (or so I keep telling myself.. positive thoughts = positive reality), but it has been up and down switching from hot and cold [cue Katy Perry’s “Hot’n’Cold”]. And today was quite the chilly day, although I do find that despite the cold, the city has its own rhythm and energy that isn’t disrupted by any external factor. That in itself is quite inspiring don’t you think? Quite the good metaphor I now remind myself of: to never let any external circumstance influence, alter or disrupt my internal peace, rhythym, energy, and grateful vibes.

There’s something about the city that inspires many to wear fur & leather (both faux & real) and today was one of those days for me. [You really need to listen to RuPaul’s “New York City Beat” at this point, its been on repeat for a while and I still cant get enough!]. What resulted was a relaxed, vintage feels outfit in a city that in itself is vintage with so much beautiful history and style.

Outfit Details

  • Leather jacket – Vintage
  • Glasses – Vintage
  • Chino pants – Hugo Boss

Message of the Day

“One belongs to New York instantly, one belongs to it as much in five minutes as in five years.” –Tom Wolfe

I reiterate: moving to New York has been one fo the most exhilarating and fulfilling decisions I’ve ever made. A day seems like a week, a week seems like a month, and so on. And by this I mean that there is an abundance of life-nourishing (also diminishing, but aint nobody got time for that!) experiences, people, and things. I think its important for everyone to find their place, people, and things that fulfill them and make them the best version of themselves.

Have you found your New York?

Bisous,

Mr. Renaissance
